Cathodes
MTLS' ability to precisely control the conductivity of a nonwoven allows for the production of tailored cathodes for a number of applications including fuel cells, battery separators and water purification. The ability to do so without imparting inert binders or surface coatings gives the customer a unique quality advantage over their competiton.
CBR Mitigation
By controlling pore size and distribution on the surface of partially carbonized fibers
MTLS is able to produce materials that selectively bond to specific warfare agents. Blends are possible because, unlike traditional ACF, the integrity of the acylic based fiber is maintained in our process.
Odor Control
Several companies claim the ability to fully mitigate VOC's in hunting garments, underwear, etc. within an ACF liner. Unfortunately, these liners comprise binders that occlude the surface of the fibers that are supposed to be fighting the odor.
MTLS has developed a new generation of products that not only outperform existing technologies, but they do so in a lighter more breathable format.
Filtration Media
With its novel surface treatment technology
MTLS has successfully demonstrated the ability to produce both layered and fully blended filtration media comprising activated carbon fiber. Additional benefits may be realized in our ability to do so in a non-conductive format.
Metals Reclamation
By modifying end-groups in partially carbonized crimped fibers they become sucseptible to bonding to certain precious metals. After a nonwoven comprising these fibers has extracted the desired metals from a melt the unwanted material is completely ablated during incineration.
